Canajoharie

Sept. 4, 7 p.m. — Rehearsal for the Valley Choralaires will begin for the fall season in the Canajoharie Reformed Church on Front St. and will continue every Tuesday through the 2012-2013 season. New members are welcome. If you wish to join, come to the rehearsal and someone will help you get started.

Sept. 14, 5 p.m. — The Canajoharie High School Class of 1967 would like to invite all interested classmates and their guests to a “Meet and Greet” night at the Canajoharie Country Club. Sept. 23 — Court Catherine Esther #1264 Catholic Daughters of the Americas is sponsoring a bus trip to Manchester Vermont and the proceeds will be used to fund the court’s various charitable causes. Arkell Center

Daily activities taking place at Arkell Center during the month of August 2012 will be as follows:

Monday through Friday — Noon meals are provided by the Meals of Montgomery Program (M.O.M.). Reservations are required by noon of the previous day. Call (518) 673-2000 or (518) 843-2300. Suggested donation is $3 for those 60 years of age or older.

Fort Plain

Sept. 22, 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m. — The first of what the Arts Factory hopes to make an annual sidewalk chalk drawing event will be held at Haslett Park. The Arts Factory is looking for artists of all ages and skill levels to participate. Chalk will be provided, although artists are invited to bring their own if they desire. Mondays, 7-8:30 p.m. — Fort Plain’s Mayor Guy Barton will hold a weekly “Meet With The Mayor” session at the Village Hall, 168 Canal St. During the weekly gathering, which members of the public are encouraged to attend, Mayor Barton will discuss the future of Fort Plain. He will also answer questions pertaining to the village.

Sept. 8 and 9, 10 a.m. — A craft fair will be held at Fort Klock. Hours on Saturday will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Over 100 talented artisans and crafters will offer their hand made creations. Food will be available. Free admission to the craft fair along with free parking.

Sept. 10, 6 p.m. — A St. Johnsville Community Policing Initiative meeting will be held at the St. Johnsville Community House, 16 Washington St.

Nov. 24 — The St. Johnsville Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a bus trip to the Christmas show at Radio City Music Hall. Oct. 7, 2 p.m. — The Valley Choralaires will perform the first concert of the season at the Stone Church on Route 10 north of Palatine Bridge in Stone Arabia. This concert is sponsored by the Stone Arabia Preservation Society. The Choralaires will share the stage with the Revisions Barbershop Quartet. Admission is free and The Preservation Society will furnish free home made refreshments. A free will offering will be accepted.
