-- Benefit for Bonnie Sweet to be held Jan. 18

ST. JOHNSVILLE -- A benefit for Bonnie Sweet will be held at the St. Johnsville Community House, 16 Washington St., on Saturday, Jan. 18, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be a basket raffle, a Chinese auction, a big ticket raffle, a 50/50, and a ziti dinner. Admission is $10 per adult, $5 for kids, 3 and under are free. A family pass (for two adults and up to three kids) is $25.

Bonnie suffers from a very rare condition called Malignant Neoplasms. This condition has caused a tumor to form in the paranasal sinus, extremely close to vital structures. This condition can cause the blood vessels to grow to considerable size before being detected. The tumors manifest in advanced stages and complicate treatment.

The side effects are extreme headaches, double vision, and more. Medical treatment and the surgical procedure required will not be handled locally because of the rarity of the condition.

Bonnie has volunteered in organizing previous charity events, benefits and local fundraisers. She has also volunteered her time to assist in the food booth at the local fireman's fair.

Any support is greatly appreciated.
