CANAJOHARIE — The Canajoharie Village Board held an abbreviated meeting at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday in order to schedule the first two budget workshops of 2013.

The first workshop will take place on Monday, Jan. 21, at 6 p.m. During this budget session, the council will meet with Jeff Swartz, head of the Department of Public Works — who noted during the meeting that his tentative budget is ready — along with a water representative and Code Enforcement Officer Clifford Dorrough.

The second budget session will take place on Thursday, Jan. 24, at 6 p.m. The council will meet with representatives of the Canajoharie Volunteer Fire Department, Village of Canajoharie Police Department, village court, wastewater treatment facility and clerk’s office.

The Village Board also approved a resolution identifying that the polling place for the March 19 election will be the village office at 75 Erie Boulevard. The polling hours will be 12 Noon to 9 p.m. The board also accepted a resolution stating that there will be no village registration day, which Mayor Francis Avery noted is not unusual, as the village hasn’t scheduled a registration day in years.
