Our Lady of Hope chili cookoff

Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church held their third annual chili cook-off Saturday evening, January 21, in the church hall in Fort Plain. Several pots of chili were entered in the contest and those in attendance had a fun time sampling each entry along with the many side dishes and desserts that were furnished by parishioners, which even included a chocolatey dessert chili. Prizes were awarded for the spiciest (the Doxtader family), most original (Aaron Katovitch), most traditional (Lisa Trahan) and taster’s choice (John Vesp). Many more events are being planned by the parish, including the annual ham dinner which will be held in March at the hall in St. Johnsville.
