FONDA -- February's exhibit at the Frothingham Free Library in Fonda features the art of Garlyn MaGinnis, of St. Johnsville. She has been an artist for more than 20 years and holds a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design from the College of St. Rose.

MaGinnis has specialized in stained glass, pet portraiture and hand painted furniture. She was the winner of the 2010 Mohawk Valley Garlic and Herb Festival Poster Contest, and has been a member of the Mohawk Valley Center for the Arts, MECCA and the Arts Factory of Montgomery County.

MaGinnis has exhibited her paintings in various art shows throughout the region, and paints passionately, with vivid colors and decorative designs. Her eclectic style is inspired by mythology and otherworldly realms of the imagination. You may find her artwork for sale in local shops and galleries.

The exhibit is on view during regular library hours, Monday through Wednesday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Friday, noon to 7 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
