Canajoharie staff learns about school safety during crisis training

CANAJOHARIE — The entire staff of the Canajoharie Central School district participated in an “Every Second Counts — School Safety in a Time of Crisis” program during a superintendent’s conference day on Friday, March 8.

The Canajoharie Police department, along with the university police and counselors from the mental health center at SUNY Cobleskill, presented the program.

The purpose of the training was to teach the staff updated crisis procedures. Presenters showed a video, a PowerPoint presentation, and also answered questions.

“This training was an opportunity for our entire school community to be reminded about always watching out for each other and what we can do to help prevent or intervene in a crisis situation,” said Superintendent Deborah Grimshaw.
