ST. JOHNSVILLE — The St. Johnsville Central School District Board of Education has appointed longtime district math teacher Connie S. DaBiere as the interim principal of the D.H. Robbins Elementary School.

DaBiere has been a math teacher in St. Johnsville since 1983 and has taught students in grades 4-12 during her tenure.

A 1979 graduate of St. Johnsville High School, DaBiere earned a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Elementary Education from the State University of New York at Oneonta and completed her school building and district administrative certifications at the College of St. Rose in 2010 and 2011.

“We’re fortunate to have someone like Mrs. DaBiere who has the skills, certification and familiarity with the district to guide our elementary building through this period of transition,” St. Johnsville Superintendent Laura Campione Lawrence said.

The district sought candidates for the position and interviewed two finalists before making the appointment. Monday, March 18 was DaBiere’s first day as interim principal. Her appointment runs until June.

A long-term certified math teacher substitute will assume DaBiere’s teaching responsibilities.

D.H. Robbins Elementary Principal Christopher Fatta remains on paid administrative leave.
