Kapps among Photographers' Conclave Ribbon Winners: Shown are Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kapp, of the Louis Kapp Studios, Fort Plain and Little Falls, with their ribbon winning portraits at the Professional Photographers convention held in the Sheraton Hotel, Rochester, last week, the third week of March, 1964.
The subjects are "Four Children", the grandchildren of Mrs. Lettie Freebold, Fort Plain; "Bar Mitzvah", Neil Goldstein, Little Falls; "Ballerina", Miss Lorraine Sulen, St. Johnsville; "Frenchie", a poodle owned by Mrs. Carmen Gaines, Little Falls; and "Two Girls", the Giammaria sisters, also of Little Falls.

Hilltoppers defeat favored Draper: Draper's Bob Sanders goes high in the air, but Fort Plain's Jim Cronkhite leaps even higher in the photograph, to launch a successful jumper during the third quarter of a game in late March, 1963, in the Troy High School gymnasium. Ready for the rebound in case of a miss is No. 12, Pete Sanzen, while completely out of play is the dark shirted Draper playing picking himself off the floor.

Safe at Home: The Fort Plain Lady Hilltoppers' Ellen Wheeler beats the ball and the tag Monday, April 28, 1986, as she scores one for the home team in a Tri-Valley softball contest at Wiles Park.

In honor of the first day of spring, the C-S-E has decided to share some springtime memories.

What Am I Offered?: Bidding was brisk at the annual auction sponsored Sunday, May 16, 1979, by the Nelliston Community group at the village hall. Here, Ron Smith (right) opens the bidding on a box of small tools, while on the left is the old "colonel" himself, Everson (Dutch) Smith. Both area residents and merchants were generous in their donation of quality merchandise, which brought excellent prices at the auction. Photo by Diefendorf
