• CCS Board to hold budget workshop on March 28

CANAJOHARIE — The Canajoharie Central School District Board of Education will hold a budget workshop at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 28, in the high school conference room.

• Ayres Shelter holding March 29 bake sale in two locations

The Ayres Memorial Animal Shelter will hold an Easter Bake Sale at the Dutchtown Plaza (near Big Lots) and Fort Plain True Value, on Friday, March 29, from 9 a.m. until sold out. The proceeds will benefit the shelter.

• AYSO registration and family fun night March 29

CANAJOHARIE — AYSO registration and family fun night will be held at Iroquois Lanes, Route 5S, on March 29, from 7-9 p.m. Family fun night will feature two games of glow bowling, shoe rental and music for $9 per person, or $32 for a family of four. • St. Johnsville Village Board to hold organizational meeting April 1

ST. JOHNSVILLE — St. Johnsville Village Board members will conduct their annual organizational meeting on Monday, April 1, at the Community House beginning at 6:30 p.m.

• Stone Soup to perform at Dome49 April 5

FORT PLAIN — Stone Soup will perform a concert at Dome49, 49 Hancock St., on Friday April 5, at 9 p.m. Stone Soup will present a concert of original compositions and home grown music, performing acoustic, blues, folk music and old time tunes, with close harmony and instrumental work.

• Fort Plain Free Library to celebrate National Poetry Month

FORT PLAIN — April is National Poetry Month, and to celebrate, the Fort Plain Free Library, Willett St., is hosting a poetry reading event on Tuesday, April 16 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Poems to be read deal with the village of Fort Plain and the Mohawk Valley and were written by poets Nelson Greene, Lillian Greene, Douglas Ayres, Jr. and other local citizens from the past. Accompanying the readings, there will be a power point presentation of slides from the Myron Saltsman Collection.

• Canajoharie Cupcake Wars and basket raffle to be held April 26

CANAJOHARIE — Canajoharie Cupcake Wars, a fundraising benefit for the Canajoharie Library, will be held on April 26, from 6-8 p.m. Ten professional bakers will compete for the coveted title of "Canajoharie Cupcake Champion". The event is free to watch, and cupcakes will be for sale. There will also be a gift basket raffle for all ages. Baskets will be on view and tickets will be on sale starting April 2. The Canajoharie Library is located at 2 Erie Blvd. For more information, call (518) 673-2314.
