-- Fundraising Roast Beef Dinner at Elks Lodge April 24

NELLISTON -- Cherrie's Pink Cupcakes, an American Cancer Society Relay for Life team associated with the Dolgeville event of the same name, will be hosting a fundraising roast beef dinner on Thursday, April 24, from 4-7 p.m. at the Canajoharie-Fort Plain BPOE #2621 Elks Lodge, Old Station Road, Nelliston. The dinner will include roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, tossed salad, hot vegetables, a roll, dessert, coffee and beverages. Adult tickets are $9, $5 for children 6-11. -- "Just Another High School Play" at OESJ High April 24-25

ST. JOHNSVILLE -- The OESJ Central School High School Drama Club will present "Just Another High School Play", by Bryan Starchman, on Thursday, April 24 and Friday, April 25 at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium.

Cast members include Ryan Becker, Jessica Senft, Grace Yezierski, Laiken Whittredge, Marissa Nellis, Jack Dudar, Amy Yezierski and Allie Dobson.

Tickets are $3 and can be purchased at the door.

-- Local canal cleanups scheduled for April 25-27

In recognition of Earth Day 2014 and in preparation for the upcoming, 190th consecutive navigation season on the New York State Canal System, the New York State Canal Corporation is partnering with Parks and Trails New York, and the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation (EFC) to sponsor the Ninth Annual Canal Clean Sweep the weekend of April 25-27.

Volunteers, Friends of Fort Plain and the Canajoharie-Palatine Chamber of Commerce will host bike path and Riverfront Park cleanup on Saturday, April 26 starting at 9 a.m.

-- Mohawk Valley Regional Economic Summit to be held April 30

CANAJOHARIE -- On April 30, The Mohawk Valley Regional Economic Summit will be held at the Arkell Museum, 2 Erie Blvd., Canajoharie, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event's keynote speaker will be Mike Russon, of Global Foundries, who will speak about attracting and managing regional growth.

Interactive workshops will include: State and Main: Investing in Main Street Revitalization; Rustbelt to Greenbelt: Agribusiness and Locavesting; Colleges as Partners in Community and Economic Development; and Six Counties in Six Minutes.

-- Village water/sewer bills due by May 1

FORT PLAIN -- The village of Fort Plain water/sewer bills are due by May 1. Everyone is asked to pay on time to avoid shut off for non payment.
