CANAJOHARIE -- The following news from Arkell Hall Adult Home is for May 1 through May 15:

May is senior health and fitness month. Arkell residents started the month off by observing the National Day of Prayer, singing "Faith of Our Fathers" and "Let there be Peace on Earth."

Arkell seniors are joining seniors everywhere in keeping health and fitness at the forefront of consciousness, concentrating on total health being a "Mind, Body, Spirit" connection.

Eleven residents joined two advisory board and two staff members on a lunch outing to the Travers Diner in Gloversville, and went shopping afterwards at Wal-Mart.

Church fellowship was held with Pastor Zach Labagh, leading worship and offering communion. A musical program featured the Valley Choralaires singing selections from their spring concert. The Fort Plain Elementary School Chorus performed at Arkell Center, also singing selections from their spring concert.

Many people came to visit with new resident Mrs. Isabelle Hoffman. The Summersons were in to visit Mrs. Summerson and Mrs. Brust. Bonnie Kerr was in to visit Mrs. Renison. Laura Ciani went out to lunch with a friend. Peg Crews went out with family. Evadean Sierra went out with her daughter. Mrs. Frances Kinch and Mrs. Margaret Bollen both went out with family.
