Local cooling stations to help locals beat the heat

Area organizations have taken steps to help residents beat the heat over the next several days and have volunteered their facilities to serve as cooling stations, which will provide relief in the form of conditioning and drinking water.

Cooling Stations are at the following locations: Canajoharie Library, 2 Erie Boulevard, Tuesday and Wednesday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday and Friday 10 a.m. to  5 p.m., and Saturday-Sunday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.; Fort Plain VFW Post 3275 30 River Street, Monday-Friday Noon to 5 p.m.; St. Johnsville Community Center and Village Hall, 16 Washington Street, Monday-Thursday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. to Noon.
