Canajoharie-Palatine Farmers Market to open June 14

CANAJOHARIE — The Canajoharie-Palatine Bridge Farmers Market will open this Saturday, June 14, outside the entrance to the Arkell Museum and Canajoharie Library from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The market will be open every Saturday.

The market will have locally grown fruits, greens, vegetables, meat and an assortment of other farm-related products.

The Canajoharie-Palatine Bridge Chamber of Commerce is always looking for farmers and producers to join the market. To sing up for the season, or just for a day or two, email info@canajohariepalatinechamber.com. The chamber is also looking for anybody that would like to share their musical or artistic talent.

-- Fort Plain Little League fundraiser June 14

NELLISTON -- Fort Plain Little League will hold a fundraiser on June 14 from Noon to 4 p.m. at the Fort Plain-Canajoharie Elks Lodge, Nelliston.

Fort Plain Little League is one of the largest youth programs in the area, with over 150 players registered. The event will raise money to defray the cost of replacing equipment and field repairs associated with the 2013 flood, as well as to keep registration costs down.

The chicken barbecue dinner includes a half chicken, baked beans, salt potatoes, a roll, watermelon and a drink. $10 per person.

The event will feature a Chinese auction, 50/50 raffle, lottery tree, face painting by Stacy Herron, a fire truck demonstration, music by DJ Walt Maaser and more.

-- Unity Hall Summer Music Concert Series features local performers June 14

FORT PLAIN -- Unity Hall's Summer Music Concert Series continues Saturday, June 14, from 6-10 p.m. The performers include Sarah Bogran, Karen and Joe, Jocelyn and Christian Arndt (of The Dependents) and Stone Soup. $5 suggested donation to go towards building repairs and sound system improvements.

-- 19th Lions Ramble at Haslett Park June 14

FORT PLAIN -- The 19th Annual Lions Ramble will take place Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Haslett Park, Fort Plain at 5:30 p.m. 10K and 2 mile trophies will be awarded, along with trophies for 10K teams and parent/child teams. -- Weekly Fort Plain Farmers Market begins June 19

FORT PLAIN -- The Fort Plain Farmers Market will run on Thursdays beginning June 19 from 1 to 5 p.m., located near the Fort Plain Medical Center, off Willett St.
