GLEN -- The Montgomery County Sheriff's office has completed a four-month long effort to check registry compliance of every registered sex offender in the county.

The effort, "Operation Restore Montgomery County," involved record checks and face-to-face interviews with registered sex offenders to verify addresses, employers, vehicles, and internet accounts, officials said.

Undersheriff Peter Vroman said this is the first year the department has undertaken the enforcement operation, which was funded by the U.S Marshals Service.

It was an effort that Vroman and Sheriff Michael Amato began to work on months ago to benefit the residents.

"I am proud that we were able to bring the sweep in to improve the safety and security of the county," Vroman said.

The enforcement operation resulted in the arrest of two registered sex offenders and arrest warrants for two others. In addition, numerous non-arrestable corrections and updates were made to the sex offender registry.

Willis Young, 28, of Palatine Bridge was arrested and held on a warrant for state parole, the sheriff's office reported.

Darrent Kretser, 29, of St. Johnsville, was arrested for allegedly failing to change and update residence. He was remanded to Montgomery County jail in lieu of $2,500 bail.
