Montgomery County police agencies receive new bulletproof vests

The New York Attorney General is giving police agencies in 23 counties across the state nearly $580,000 to help buy new or replacement bulletproof vests. A few Montgomery County agencies will receive the vests, including the Canajoharie Police Department (to the tune of $3,721.81), The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office ($1,402), and the Amsterdam Police Department ($4,731). This was the first round of funding for the vests. The inVEST Partnership Program is accepting applications for the next round of funding.
