ST. JOHNSVILLE — The Fox Creek Band followed up their performance in Fort Plain’s Haslett Park last Thursday with a concert at the St. Johnsville Marina on Monday.

Although some of the same fans came to see the group on both days, there were many more spectators on Monday due to the warm, pleasant weather.

Rick Nichols, of St. Johnsville, attended the show with his two beagles, noting that he tries to be present for every concert at the marina. “It’s real nice,” said Nichols of the marina’s atmosphere, commenting on the Fox Creek Band, “I hear this band every year.”

Jack and Carolyn Lull relaxed on a park bench near Nichols while they listened to the band. It was the second time this summer they attended a concert at the marina.

“I like the marina and everything. And the people. It’s a nice day,” said Jack.

Canajoharie’s mayor Francis Avery joined the fun in a fast-paced dance with his wife, Janet. They danced in front of the crowd for about five minutes and exited to applause.

“My father had a band when we were children 60 years ago,” he said. “So we just learned [to dance] that way.”

Trustees and employees of the Margaret Reaney Memorial Library scooped ice cream and provided snacks to the crowd.

While many audience members came to enjoy the free concert and the mild evening, many were personal friends and dedicated fans of the Fox Creek Band.

“I like to hear Linda sing,” said Tiffani Hogan, of Fort Plain, while Donna Patterson, of Gloversville, commented “I love Linda Lee.”

“We see her every Sunday, up at the Broadalbin hotel,” said Sally Nellis, Patterson’s friend.

Three of singer Linda Lee’s aunts were close to the stage, cheering her on.

“We like country, and we’ve all come to see her,” said Rosemarie Brown, of Mohawk. “We love it.”

Jessica Nicosia - Thysha Boyer, 12, left, and Donna Boyer, 13, of St. Johnsville, came to see the Fox Creek Band with their grandfather on Monday.

Jessica Nicosia - Gaby LaCoppola, 10, and Fontana LaCoppola, 11, of St. Johnsville, attended their first concert of the summer at St. Johnsville Marina Monday.
