CANAJOHARIE  —  Canajoharie’s last Music on Mainstreet concert of the season on Tuesday featured The Redneck Rodeo Cowboy Band playing to a packed lawn. People of all ages and many animal friends listened to familiar songs played by the group.

Sarah Magistro brought her cat, Loki, on a leash to walk the park while she listened to the music.

“He loves being outside,” she said of Loki, who has become a local feline legend at the Music on Mainstreet shows, having attended with Magistro for numerous seasons.

“We haven’t made as many [concerts] as we wanted to, there always seems to be something going on,” said Stephanie Price, who attended with her dog, Lily, and her husband, Larry. She continued, “But we like coming down. I love the open air and seeing everybody that I used to know when I worked at the library. And particularly I like country western.”

Miriam and Dean Dustin are from out of town, but have attended every concert this year in Canajoharie.

“It’s a nice drive whichever way you come up or down the valley,” said Dean.

“It’s really close for us,” said Jen Sidney, of Canajoharie, who, with her husband, Mark brought their young children to hear the music for the third time this summer. “We just walk here, so it’s something fun to do before bedtime.”

The Church of the Good Shepherd of Canajoharie provided refreshments, raising money for the church. Women sitting at their prayer table would also offer prayers for those who asked.

“I come whenever I can,” said Wayne Folmsbee, of Canajoharie, of the Music on Mainstreet concerts. “It’s beautiful, plus (tonight) it ain’t raining.” More images in the Seen section.
