-- Rescheduled fireworks show Aug. 31

FORT PLAIN -- The re-scheduled fireworks show originally scheduled to happen during 4th on the 3rd will now take place on Sunday, Aug. 31, at 8:30 p.m., at Wiles Park. Festivities will begin at 5 p.m. There will be hot dogs, soda, water, fried dough, ice cream, cotton candy and music by DJ Walt Maaser. The event will also feature a bounce house and bonfire. Bring a lawn chair and flashlight.

-- Senior Saints to meet Sept. 3

ST. JOHNSVILLE -- The St. Johnsville Senior Saints will hold their first meeting following summer recess at the St. Johnsville Community House, 16 Washington St., on Wednesday, Sept. 3, at 1:30 p.m.

Previous members, new members and guests are welcome.

-- Church to host chicken barbecue fundraiser Sept. 4

MARSHVILLE -- On Sept. 4, The Marshville Evangelical Church, Route 10, will hold a chicken barbecue from 3:30 p.m. until sold out. Cost for take-out is $6 per half chicken. On sale will be baked goods, beans, salad and baked potatoes. Pre-paid tickets should be picked up by 5 p.m. For more information, call (518) 673-2394.

-- Fall Ham and Fritter Dinner at St. Paul's Church Sept. 6

ST. JOHNSVILLE -- St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 32 W. Main St., will hold a Fall Ham and Fritter Dinner on Saturday, Sept. 6, from 4-7 p.m. Served will be ham, fritters, scalloped potatoes, scalloped pineapple, salads, baked beans, French kraut, desserts and beverages. Donation of $10. Kids under 5 eat free.

-- Organ Concert at St. John's Church Sept. 12

ST. JOHNSVILLE -- An Organ Concert featuring Dr. Eric Stroud and other local musicians will take place on Sept. 12, at 7 p.m., at St. John's Reformed Church, 70 W. Main St., St. Johnsville. 

-- Nifty Needles to resume Sept. 23

ST. JOHNSVILLE -- The Margaret Reaney Memorial Library's Nifty Needles program is set to resume for the 2014/2015 season. The group will meet the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 10 a.m. beginning Sept. 23. All are welcome to the table. Feel free to invite a friend.
