One injured in ATV accident

TOWN OF PALATINE — One person was injured in an all-terrain vehicle accident here Sunday night.

According to New York State Police out of Fonda, 18-year-old Mark Matteson, of St. Johnsville, sustained undisclosed injuries in the accident, which was reported on Nellis Road shortly after 7 p.m.

Montgomery County Undersheriff Jeff Smith, an officer with Fort Plain Fire Department, on Tuesday said the operator of the four-wheeler was leaving a property there when the accident occurred.

Life-Net of Glen was contacted for transport, but the crew was unable to take him because of the weather, Smith said.

Matteson was taken by Mid-County Ambulance personnel to a local hospital.

Additional information was not available.

According to information on the State Police website, the accident remains under investigation.
