CANAJOHARIE -- The Canajoharie Loyal Order of Moose Lodge served breakfast to 59 people Saturday morning, with 50 kids visiting not only with Santa Claus, but a special guest -- Tigger, from "Winnie The Pooh".

Santa Claus, played for the last three years by Moose Governor Ray Ponte, passed out 50 stuffed animals to attendees, while Tigger, played by Ann Ponte, handed out candy, which was donated by Ann and Moose Manager Karm Kaur.

Ponte said that attendance was down a bit from last year's celebration, from 125, noting that it was likely because of the numerous local events and breakfasts with Santa Claus happening simultaneously. Nonetheless, Ponte said the kids who attended had a great time and the Moose will continue to put on the annual breakfast, the proceeds of which are given back to the community and national organizations through the Moose's various charitable endeavors.

"The kids had fun, and that's what it's all about," Ponte said, noting that kids were extremely surprised to see Tigger. He was also excited to see that not even one attendee was scared of Santa Claus this year.

"They were definitely some very happy kids," he said.

The Moose will hold their first holiday craft fair on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
