Wednesday, December 18, 2013 - Updated: 9:57 PM

FORT PLAIN -- NBT Bank, of Fort Plain, has donated $5,000 to the village of Fort Plain to assist with the purchase of a flood and emergency alert system. Here, Branch Manager Deanna Campione presents Fort Plain Mayor Guy Barton with a check. Barton stated, "The village thanks NBT for their tremendous donation. It puts us over our goal for the alert system that we're working on presently. We'll have it in by springtime at the latest." He said it takes about 10 weeks to build the 50-foot-high, revolving siren.
