Village board reminds residents about shoveling

Thursday, December 26, 2013 - Updated: 1:24 AM

ST. JOHNSVILLE -- The St. Johnsville Village Board of Trustees would like to remind residents that they are responsible for shoveling the sidewalks in front of their property. Village code states that homeowners and businesses have 24 hours to clear their walkways after a snowstorm. Violators will be ticketed for code violation. Also, no snow is to be thrown into the streets.

The village board would also like to suggest that village residents help keep the fire hydrants in front of their property clear of snow. This would save time if the fire department had to use the hydrant in an emergency.
