Theresa R. Handy
September 6, 2012

Theresa R. Handy, 84, of Layafette Street, Palatine Bridge passed away Thursday evening, September 6, 2012 at St. Mary’s Hospital after a short illness.
She was born February 20, 1928 in Amsterdam and she was the daughter of the late John and Clara Stowele Collins.
Theresa was a lifelong Amsterdam resident and attended Amsterdam schools. Years ago she was employed as a waitress of the former White Tower Restaurant in Amsterdam and later worked as a nurse’s aide at the former Mt. Loretto Nursing Home in Amsterdam retiring a number of years ago.
Theresa enjoyed word searches and at one time bowled in the mixed league at the former St. John’s Club in Amsterdam.
In 1948 she married Henry T. Walendziak who passed away in 1980 and later she married Edward Handy June19, 1982, who passed away December 15, 2000. She was also predeceased by a daughter Maryann Walendziak who passed away in 1977 and several sisters and brothers.
Survivors include a son Henry M. Walendziak and his wife Audrey of Nelliston, New York and a daughter Christine St. Amour and her husband Bernie of Fort Hunter, New York; two brothers Joseph Collins and Elton Collins of Amsterdam; a sister Marilyn Bell of Amsterdam; seven Grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held on Monday, September 17, 2012 at 1:00 pm at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY.
Family received relatives and friends beginning at 12:30 pm on Monday. Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fort Johnson, New York.
At the request of the family, anyone suffering from cold or flu     symptoms kindly not attend services due to the fact that a family    member is close to a stem cell procedure.

James “Albert” Cudsworth
September 13, 2012

Mr. James “Albert” Cudsworth, 70, formerly of Ridge Road, Canajoharie, Hickory Hill Road, Fonda and most recently of Bulls Head Road, Town of Florida, died peacefully on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Albert was born in Brooklyn, NY on May 11, 1942. For the past    several years he has been a member of the Liberty family.  
Albert enjoyed socializing and meeting new people.  Always glad to shake a hand of a new friend, he was known for his sunglasses and smile, he will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his three brothers, and his family and housemates at Liberty.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at 12 noon at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam with the Rev. Cynthia Leonard  presiding.  
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.  
Relatives and friends are invited and may call one hour prior to the service.

Gwendolyn June Getman

Miss Gwendolyn June Getman, 79, of Walnut Street, Canajoharie, New York died, Monday, September 17, 2012 at Mountain Valley Hospice House in Gloversville.
Born on June 28, 1933 in Johnstown, NY, she was the daughter of Carl A. Getman and Alwilda M. Monk Getman.  
Miss Getman was a graduate of Fort Plain High School, class of 1952 with an Honors Diploma. She resided in Nelliston and Canajoharie.
Miss Getman was employed as a secretary at many different businesses until her retirement in the late 1980s.
She was a member of the Fort Plain United Methodist Church.
Gwendolyn loved gardening.
She was predeceased by her brother, Carl A. Getman, Jr. and       brother-in-law, Robert L. Bernstein.
Miss Getman is survived by her sister, Evelyn A. Bernstein of Canajoharie, NY; two nieces, Nona J. Myers, Terre Lynn Gifford; nephew, Michael Allen Bernstein; several grand-nieces, one          grand-nephew and cousins.
A private graveside service will be held at Fort Plain Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
