Ilse Kirchenwitz
September 28, 2012

Ilse Kirchenwitz of Stone Arabia Road in Fort Plain passed away at her home on September 28, 2012. She was born in Korbach, Germany on May 9, 1923. She is the daughter of the late Eduard & Marie Fingerhut Rube.
Born and raised in Germany she attended local schools. While in school she was on the gymnastics team. She married Erich O. Kirchenwitz on October 14, 1950. They traveled to the United States a year after marriage to live. During the years after they moved to New York, she and her husband worked on several farms until purchasing their own in 1953. They together owned and           operated their farm until 1982. Ilse and Erich resided on their farm, she enjoyed gardening and tending to her flower beds. She was a proud member of the Farm Bureau and enjoyed going on bus trips with the association and looked forward to working the Farm Bureau Milk booth every year at the fair. Ilse also enjoyed being a member of the Tuesday Afternoon Ladies Bowling League. She was also a member of the former Rolling Stones Home Bureau. She is of the Lutheran faith and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Ilse is predeceased by her beloved husband Erich O. Kirchenwitz and a son Hans Kirchenwitz along with many siblings.
Her loving family includes daughter, Barbara Ouderkirk and her    husband Joseph, grandchildren Hans Ouderkirk and Christa (Timothy) Fonda. Several nieces nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral Services for Isle were Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 11 O’clock at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie NY 13317.
Family and friends were invited to visit from 10am until 11am before the service.
Burial took place at Ft. Plain Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Trinity Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 238 Palatine Bridge, NY 13428.

Alba Tutrani
September 27, 2012

Alba Tutrani of Canajoharie passed away peacefully on September 27, 2012 at Palatine Nursing Home with her loving family by her side.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island on July 27, 1912 she was the daughter of the late Giocondo and Filomena Ginangeli Salmaggi.
Alba was raised in Brooklyn, NY and attended local schools. She is of the Roman Catholic Faith and a former communicant of St. Mary’s Church. Alba was a Personal Secretary at Ferrara’s Pastry Shop in New York City for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and playing cards. Alba also loved to go to the opera. She was a devoted and loving sister and aunt.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband John Tutrani, siblings Aurora Hanscom, Ellie Cittadini, Ferris Salmaggi and brother in law Salvatore Covais.
Her loving family includes, sisters Edith Covais (Carmine) of Colonie and Janet Covais of Canajoharie along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place on Monday, October 1, 2012 at Our Lady of Hope Church in Fort Plain at 10 AM. Rev. Dennis Murphy as celebrant.
Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Amsterdam.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Angelina Bartlett Herringshaw
September 25, 2012

Mrs. Angelina Brooker Bartlett Herringshaw entered into her next life Tuesday, September 25th. at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, NY.
Born April 9, 1933 in West Richmondville, she was the daughter of Ellery and Dorothy Brooker.
Angelina lived on and cared for the grounds of the Canajoharie Fish and Game club for many years. An active sportswoman, Angelina enjoyed the sport of deer hunting with her late husband, Lyman C. Bartlett. She later married Ronald Herringshaw, who survives.
Angelina managed the Ayres Memorial Animal shelter in Sprakers for several years, sharing her love for animals, having been raised on a family dairy farm.
Survivors include five sons: Lyman Bartlett (Katherine), Gary Bartlett (Patricia), James Bartlett, Brian Bartlett (Staci), and Russell Herringshaw; five daughters, Joy King (Jim), Norma J. Soodsma, Elaine Clayburn, Holly Herringshaw (David DiMascio), and Diana Pendleton (Thomas). Also survived by: several grandchildren, great grandchildren; sister Donna Adair (Kenneth) Richmondville and brother Everett Brooker of Oneonta.   
Angelina was predeceased by her husband, Lyman C. Bartlett in 1969, and her brother LeRoy Brooker.
The family held a graveside service Friday September 28th at 11 am, at the Slate Hill Cemetery, Sharon Hill, NY. Stephen Bartlett, nephew, officiated.  
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ottman Funeral Home, 22 Church Street, Cherry Valley, NY.
In lieu of flowers, Angelina requests that contributions be made to the Ayres Memorial Animal Shelter in her memory.

Suzanne E. Anderson
September 28, 2012

Suzanne E. Anderson, 50, of Lusso Rd. Fultonville, NY, passed away Friday September 28, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam.
Born in Amsterdam, NY on February 22, 1962 a daughter of Roy and Suzanne Goot Sutton. She was a lifelong area resident and a 1980 graduate of Fonda Fultonville Central School. She went on to receive her Teacher's Aide license from FMCC.
Mrs. Anderson was employed for over 20 years by the Gloversville Enlarged School District. She also worked in the cafeteria for a time at the Fonda Fultonville Central School. The children in the school were her passion and she cared very much for them.
Suzanne was a loving wife, mother and above all grandmother. Her family was her life. She enjoyed cooking and baking for them and spending time with them.
She is survived by her husband, Andrew Anderson whom she married on October 11, 1980. In addition to her husband, survivors include her parents, Roy and Suzanne Sutton of Glen, NY. One son, Tyrrell Anderson (Lynne Robinson) of Glen, NY. One daughter, Tiffany Anderson Wojcicki (Matthew) of Aberdeen, NJ. One brother, Rodney Sutton (Dawn) of Canajoharie, NY. Two cherished grandchildren who meant the world to her, Hunter and Sophia Anderson of Glen, NY. Aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services were held on Monday October 1, 2012 at 11:00A.M. at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main St., Fultonville, NY with Rev. Greg DeSalvatore presiding.
Interment followed in Maple Avenue Cemetery, Fultonville, NY.
The family received relatives and friends on Monday October 1, 2012 from 10:00 to 11:00A.M. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Albany Medical Center Hospital (Parkinson’s Disease) 43 New Scotland Ave, Albany, NY 12208.
