Ruth E. Hulbert
November 15, 2012

Mrs. Ruth E. Hulbert, 98, of Youngs Road, Fort Plain, New York died Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Little Falls Hospital.
Born on October 18, 1914 in Norway, New York, she was the adoptive daughter of Maurice and Lillian Darrow. She had been a local area resident for many years, previously residing in Mindenville.
Mrs. Hulbert was a homemaker.  She was previously employed as an attendant at Letchworth Village in Thiells, NY for 16 1/2 years,  retiring in 1972.
She was a member of the Freysbush Bible Church and Hessville Volunteer Fire Department Ladies’ Auxiliary.
On October 17, 1956 in Nyack, NY, Ruth was married to Addison R. Hulbert.  He preceded her in death on December 27, 1977.  She was also predeceased by her son, Rowland Calhoun; brothers, Glenn and Albert Darrow; step-son, Addison Hulbert, Jr.
Mrs. Hulbert is survived by her step-son, Lawrence Edward and Caroline Hulbert of Fort Plain, NY; step-daughters, Ann and Harold Lynch of Ilion, NY, Barbara and Allen Schreiber of Helene, AL;    brother, Lynn Darrow of Little Falls, NY; sisters, Flora Stock of Little Falls, NY, Marion and Paul Bouck of Fort Plain, NY; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Darrow of Mohawk, NY; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews; one great-great-niece and one great-great-nephew; and also many special neighbors and friends.
A funeral service was held on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 10:00am at the Chapel of Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY with Pastor Dan West officiating. The family received relatives and friends on Sunday, November 18, 2012 from 4:00-7:00pm at the funeral home.  
Burial took place in Freysbush Cemetery.

Irene Young

Mrs. Irene Young passed from this life into Glory Nov. 13, 2012.
Irene was born on May 28, 1924 in Gloversville, NY the daughter of William and Elsie (Donahue) Rector.
She grew up in Johnstown, attending Johnstown schools.  During her high school years, she was employed part time at Ike Cohen’s Dry goods and the Strand Theater. She was involved with high school basketball, theater and chorus, graduating from Johnstown High School class of 1942.
She was joined in marriage to George Wagar of Johnstown in April 1942. He predeceased her in 1961. She then married Lewis T. Young in April 1963. He also predeceased her in 1992.
Her work experience was diverse, being employed variously by Bendix Radio, Borman’s Gloves, Elmer Little & Sons Gloves, General Telephone, Little Falls Felt Shoe co. and Becchnut Foods.
Irene resided mostly in Lasselsville–Oppenheim area most of her adult Life. Upon her retirement she resided in Lake Placid and Florida between 1980 and 2003, when she returned to New York State.
Her faith in her Lord Jesus Christ was expressed throughout her life in the Johnstown Reformed Church and st. John’s reformed Church along with the First Presbyterian Church of Florida, and Seekers Fellowship of st. Johnsville. She derived great pleasure in serving her church, and also great joy in spending time with her loving family.
She is survived by her sons and their wives, Edward and Betty Wagar of Gloversville, Terry and Sharon Wagar of Brunswick,NY and Charles and Diane Wagar of St. Johnsville, stepson Richard and Jan Young of Texas, a stepdaughter in law Dora Young of Mi, a brother Melvin and Lou Rector of Florida, grandsons Donald Wagar of Gloversville, Matthew M. Wagar of Boston, Benjamin M. Wagar of Brunswick, Curt Young of Mi, step grandsons Toby LaGrange, Robert Young and John Young, granddaughters Murene and Mark Spraker of Hagaman, Tina and Donald Bode of St. Johnsville, Valerie and Richie Fisher of Gloversville, Jennifer and Carden Smith of st. Johnsville, 11 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a step-son Robert Young of Zeeland, Mich.
A memorial service was held Saturday November 17, 2012 at 12:00 noon at the House of Bread, Park Place St. Johnsville, NY.  Burial will be in Michael Cemetery, Lasselsville at the convenience of the family.

Terry W. Jones
November 18, 2012

Mr. Terry W. Jones, 61, of Mechanic Street, St. Johnsville, New York died Sunday, November 18, 2012 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Amsterdam following a brief illness.
Born on July 11, 1951 in Amsterdam, NY, he was the son of George W. Jones and Freda Galusha Jones. He was a graduate of Canajoharie High School, class of 1970. He had been a local area resident since December of 1992, previously residing in New Smyrna Beach and Orlando, Florida.
Most recently Mr. Jones was a custodian for Palatine Nursing Home.  His most memorable job was at Walt Disney World, while living in Orlando.
Mr. Jones was a member of the Canajoharie United Methodist Church.
Terry was an avid NASCAR fan who loved listening to music, especially the oldies.
He was predeceased by his father, George W. Jones in 1995.
Mr. Jones is survived by his mother, Freda Jones of Palatine Bridge, NY; daughter, Kellie Jones and companion, Jim Thomas of Fort Plain, NY; son, Jeremy Jones and companion, Jessie Knapp of St. Johnsville, NY; sister, Janyce and her husband Terry VanAlstine of Palatine Bridge, NY; brother, Gary Jones and his wife, Terry of Nelliston, NY; grandchildren, Camdon Jones, Brayden Hakes, Maicee Thomas;          1 niece; 2 nephews; several cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Services are private and will be at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements are entrusted to Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317.
