Mary Jane Chase
December 15, 2012

Mrs. Mary Jane Chase, 75, of State Highway 163, Fort Plain, New York passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at her home on Saturday evening.  
Born in Cobleskill, NY on April 28, 1937 she was the daughter of the late Frank and Marjorie Stanton Madl, Sr.
Mary worked for several manufacturing companies including Life Savers in Canajoharie and Keymark in Fonda. Her passion in life was her family. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary also was an avid Yankee fan and enjoyed playing scrabble, bingo and taking casino trips. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her loving family includes her children, Brenda (Rick) Little of Meco, NY, Leslie (Cindy) Chase, Jr., of Ames, NY, Steven (Laurie) Chase, Sr., of Fort Plain, NY, David (Dawn) Chase of Fort Plain, NY, Donna (Tom) Ward of Palatine Bridge, NY and Denice Harris of Fort Plain, NY; 19 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Additional survivors include her siblings, Ruth Nicoletti of Sacramento, CA, Frank Madl, Jr. of Janesville, NY and John Madl of Howe Caverns, NY; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her grandsons, Matthew D. Chase and Vincent J. Chase.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 1 o’clock at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY with the Rev. Kenneth Dingman.  
Relatives amd friends were invited to call prior to the service Wednesday beginning at 11a.m.  
Interment followed in the Ames Cemetery.  
Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the South Minden Volunteer Fire Department, 1029 State Highway 163, Fort Plain, NY 13339.

Isabelle M Searles

Isabelle M Searles, 82, of East Springfield, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown.
She was born August 23, 1930 in Cherry Valley, NY, the daughter of Grover and Eva (Yerdon) Utter. She married Robert K Searles on August 28, 1948, who predeceased her in 2008.
Together Isabelle and Bob worked a family dairy farm in East Springfield. She worked outside the dairy farm at Beechnut baby food in Canajoharie for 35 years, 15 years as a cook at Springfield Central High School and 15 years at Central National/NBT Bank in Cherry Valley.
During her spare time she enjoyed family, sewing, was active in PTA, 4H Club, and a member of Springfield Grange.
Survivors include two sons: Robert (Rosie), Greg (Linda), grandchildren: Brett (Ashley), Marcia (Dan), Jessica (Kevin), Joshua (Christina), Rachel (Steve), Rebecca, five great-grandchildren, two special nieces Merrilee (Paul), Margaret (Carlos), and several nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister Buelah (John) McKuen, brothers: Harold (Evie) Utter, Almond (Evelyn) Utter.
The family would like to thank Maureen Kuhn and staff at Cherry Valley Medical Center (Todd), in home care aids: Michelle, Chayndell, Brenda, Pam and Cinde for all their never-ending care and concern.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Isabelle’s memory may be made to the Cherry Valley Food Bank, Cherry Valley Ambulance, or Springfield First responders.

Roger Allen Trumbull

Mr. Roger Allen Trumbull, 77, of St. Hwy. 5s, Fort Plain, New York died Monday, December 17, 2012 at his home with his family by his side.
Born on April 29, 1935 in Little Falls, NY, he was the son of Harold Trumbull and Hazel Getman Trumbull. He was a lifelong area resident that was educated at the Sand Hill School and a graduate of Fort Plain High School, class of 1952.
Mr. Trumbull was an Organic Farmer and previous Dairy Farmer on his family farm from 1956 to present. He became an Organic Farmer in 1982. He was also a dealer for Fertrell Co., dealing in organic minerals and supplements.
He was of Methodist faith.
Mr. Trumbull enjoyed spending time with his family.
On February 23, 1957, Roger was married to Carolyn Prall. Together they celebrated 55 years of marriage.
Mr. Trumbull was predeceased by his brother, Richard James Trumbull on December 3, 2012.
Mr. Trumbull is survived by his wife, Carolyn Trumbull of Fort Plain, NY; two daughters, Teris and Daryl of Johnstown, NY, Alaine and Matt of Stone Arabia, NY; son, Brian and Dawn of Fort Plain, NY; grandchildren, Aaron, Kaitlin, Evan, Taylor; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Noon at the Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY with Rev. Alan Griffith officiating.  The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 10:00am-12:00pm at the funeral home.
