Police Report - 05/24/2012

Fort Plain Police Department

• Mark Delija, 69, of Pearl St., Seymour, CT, was arrested on May 7, charged with third degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Delija was arrested for operating his vehicle on a suspended license after he was stopped for speeding. He was issued tickets at the scene and released to another person.

• George A. Jenkins, 49, of Fords Bush Spur, Fort Plain, was arrested on May 9, charged with two counts of issuing a bad check.

Jenkins was arrested on an active arrest warrant after issuing two checks to the Nice N Easy Store on Main Street in April of this year with insufficient funds to cover the checks. Jenkins was released, scheduled to answer the charge at a later date.

• Hope Holligan, 34, of Furman St., Schenectady, was arrested on May 10 for failure to appear.

Holligan was arrested on a warrant for failing to appear in the Town of Minden Court. At arraignment, she was remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.

• Terry Leroy, Jr., 26, of 27 Washington St., Fort Plain, was arrested on May 14, charged with having an unlicensed/dangerous dog.

Leroy was issued an appearance ticket for having an unlicensed and dangerous dog after officers investigated a severe dog bite complaint. He is to appear in the Town of Minden Court at a later date.

• Simon P. Scranton, 33, of 1477 Herkimer St., Utica, was arrested on May 15, charged with possession of an open container.

Scranton was found to be in possession of an open can of beer while on Center St., and was issued an appearance ticket for a future court appearance.

• Billy Kimmel, 32, of 24 Hancock St., Fort Plain, was arrested on May 17, charged with third degree criminal possession of a weapon and unlawfully dealing with fireworks.

Kimmel was arrested after an investigation into an explosion determined that he had lit a small stick of an explosive in the village near the US Post Office. He was issued tickets after processing to return to court at a future date.

• Martin R. Collins, 20, of 107 Old. St. Rt. 80, Fort Plain, was arrested on May 19, charged with third degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Collins was found to be operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license after he was stopped for a traffic violation. Collins’ license was suspended for failing to answer two summons in the town of Canajoharie in 2010. He was released, scheduled for a future court appearance.

• Robert P. Prevost, 53, of 54 Mohawk St., Fort Plain, was arrested on May 19, charged with possession of an open container.

Prevost was found to be in possession of an open can of beer while on Mohawk Street and issued an appearance ticket for a future court appearance.
