Canajoharie Police Department

• Mason P. Cool, 36, of Canajoharie was arrested on June 20 and charged with harassment following a report of a physical disturbance. Cool allegedly punched a subject in the face several times. He was issued an appearance ticket to return to Canajoharie Village Court on July 16.

• Jeffrey A. Rathbun, 16, of Dolgeville, was arrested on June 23 and charged with unlawful possession of fireworks. Rathbun was allegedly found to be in possession of three long sleeves of fireworks, a package of bottle rockets and eight packages of Jumpin’ Jack fireworks. He was issued an appearance ticket to return to Canajoharie Village Court on July 9.

• Todd M. Pearl, 30, of Canajoharie, was arrested on June 16 and charged with third degree aggravated operation of a motor vehicle and failure to signal a turn. Police stopped Pearl’s vehicle after he allegedly made a turn without using a turn signal. A computer check allegedly showed that Pearl’s license was suspended for failure to pay a fine. Pearl was issued two traffic tickets and arraigned in Canajoharie Village Court. He is scheduled to return to court on July 23.

• Kara M. Musser, 22, of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, was arrested on June 16 and charged with unlawful possession of fireworks. During a vehicle stop, Musser was allegedly found to be in possession of two large bottle rocket containers. She was arraigned, pleaded guilty, paid a fine of $175, and was released.

• Jason E. Gray, 33, of Bainbridge, was arrested on June 9 and charged with third degree aggravated operation of a motor vehicle and no motorcycle plate lamp. During a vehicle stop, a computer check allegedly revealed that Gray was operating with a suspended license. He was arraigned, posted a $200 bail, and was given a date to return to court to answer the charge.

• Bryan W. Pitt, 19, of Glenville, was arrested on June 14 and charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with a BAC of .08 percent or higher, open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, obstructed/covered license plate and trespass. While patrolling Canajoharie Falls, police allegedly observed two males jumping off the falls and swimming at its base. They were also allegedly observed drinking. Officers stopped their vehicle as they attempted to drive away from the picnic area and allegedly found Pitt, the driver, to be operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Pitt was arraigned in Canajoharie Village Court, where he pleaded guilty to the charge of trespass and posted $300 bail. He is due to return to court on July 23 to answer the DWI charge.

• Jeremy D. Bouchard, 21, of Fort Plain, was arrested on June 17 and charged with disorderly conduct-obstructing vehicular traffic. Officers responded to the area of Moyer and Wheelock streets following a report of a male passed out in the middle of the road. Police allegedly found Bouchard to be highly intoxicated and unable to stand up. He was processed and released to his parents with a ticket to appear in Canajoharie Village Court on July 23.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office

• A pair of Herkimer residents were charged with trespass after they were reportedly observed swimming at the base of the Canajoharie Creek falls at Wintergreen Park Saturday.

Deputy Michael Spaulding arrested Matthew F. Ramsey, 22, of 224 Esther St., and Brittany N. Defazio, 21, of 212 Harter St. Ramsey was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.

They pleaded guilty to the charges when arraigned in Canajoharie village court. Ramsey was sentenced to pay $425 in fines and court surcharges, and Defazio was ordered to pay $250.

St. Johnsville Police Department

• Two 20-year-olds were arrested June 21 at 8:05 p.m. and charged with unlawful possession of an alcohol beverage with intent to consume by persons under the age of 21. Brittany A. Bateholts, of 230 Perry St., Herkimer, and Marcelino Chavez, of 678 County Highway 108, St. Johnsville, were arrested after a traffic stop where they were allegedly both found to be in possession of alcohol. They were issued appearance tickets and released.
