Police Report - 07/19/2012

Fort Plain Police Department

• Martin R. Collins, 20, 0f 107 Old State Road, Fort Plain, was arrested on June 21, charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.

Collins was stopped for a traffic violation and found to be in possession of a marijuana pipe and marijuana.

• Christopher J. Harrington, 23, of 17 W. Grand St., Palatine Bridge, was arrested July 4 on an active bench warrant issued for failure to pay a fine.

Harrington was arrested on an active bench warrant for failure to pay a fine resulting from a DWAI arrest. After being arraigned, the fine was paid and he was released.

• Donna M. Torres, 25, of 25 River St., Fort Plain, was arrested in July 4, charged with unlawful possession and use of fireworks.

• Robert P. Prevost, 53, of 54 Mohawk St., Fort Plain, was arrested on July 5 after a complaint was received of a barking dog.

• Harold H. Moore, 19, 1262 FordsBush Road, Fort Plain, and two juvenile males, were arrested on July 6, charged with fourth degree criminal mischief.

Moore and two juvenile males were arrested for intentionally damaging an apartment the family had rented. Moore was processed and released to return to criminal court. The juveniles were returned to their respective mothers and they will be dealing with their charges in family court.

• Jose E. Ruiz, 52, of 57 Uncle Pete Road, N. Haines City, Florida, was arrested on July 8, charged with driving while intoxicated.

Ruiz was stopped for driving without lights. A subsequent battery of field sobriety tests proved he was intoxicated. He was arrested and given a chemical test that resulted in a BAC over the legal limit. Due to the fact that he was living out of state, he was arraigned and  posted bail.

• Antonio Medina, 32, of 36 Division St., Apt. 4, Fort Plain, was arrested on July 8, charged with harassment. Medina was arrested when a complaint was filed that he threatened to punch someone in the face.

• Christine C. Eromenok, 24, of 16902 NY St. Rt. 3, Fort Plain, was arrested on June 30, charged with driving with a suspended registration. Eromenok was stopped for not wearing a seatbelt and was found to be driving with a suspended registration.

• Sara G. Hill, 25, of 2455 Pumpkin Hill Road, Oneonta, was arrested on July 10, charged with third degree aggravated unlicensed operation.

Hill was stopped for a traffic infraction and found to have an active suspension for failing to pay a fine in the Town of Glen Court. Hill was issued UTT’s with a future court appearance.

• Gary Sweet, III, 32, of 11.5 Reid St., Fort Plain, was arrested on July 10, charged with having a dangerous dog.

Sweet was arrested when a complaint was filed after his dog attacked and injured another dog.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office

• Kyle Jacob Lamont, 17, of 7441 State Highway 10, Apt. 2, Ames, was arrested on July 14 and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. While conducting a search for stolen property, deputies allegedly located a small amount of marijuana and a pipe in Lamont’s bedroom. According to a press release, the original complainant declined to prosecute with regards to the recovered stolen property. Lamont was issued a ticket to appear in Canajoharie Town Court on July 26.

• Corrine Angela Skinner, 38, of 73 E. Main St., St. Johnsville, was arrested on July 13 and charged with first degree criminal possession of a forged instrument. Skinner allegedly cashed $1740 worth of savings withdrawal slips from somebody else’s account at several different NBT Bank locations throughout the area. She was arraigned and remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash or $11,000 bond. Skinner is scheduled to appear in Amsterdam Town Court at a later date for further proceedings.

• John Joseph Scott, Jr., 28, of 5 Berthoud St., Nelliston, was arrested on July 14 and charged with neglect of an impounded animal. Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to Scott’s residence following an anonymous complaint that there was emaciated dog located there. Upon arrival, deputies allegedly located the dog in the rear of the residence. According to a press release, the animal did not have any fresh water or food and appeared to be extremely thin, with its ribs showing. Unable to contact Scott, deputies seized the dog and transported it to Ayres shelter in Sprakers for care. Scott was later arrested, issued an appearance ticket and released. He is scheduled to appear in Palatine Town Court on Aug. 2 to answer the charge.

St. Johnsville Police Department

• Brandon Smith, 25, of 1 West Main St., Apt. 3, St. Johnsville, was arrested at 8:30 p.m. July 9 at his residence after he was allegedly found to be in possession of marijuana. He was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.

• Roger J. Ayers, 34, of 6717 Route 5S, Fort Plain, was arrested at 4 a.m. July 7 on East Main Street after he was allegedly found to be in possession of marijuana. He was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.

• Sharon Murray, 23, of 41 Center St., St. Johnsville, was arrested at 7:45 p.m. July 7 on Center Street following a traffic stop for a traffic infraction. According to police, a DMV check revealed Murray was driving with a suspended license. She was charged with aggravated unlicensed operator.

• Adam W. Rose, 29, of 103 Gilbert St., Johnstown, was arrested at 6:13 p.m. July 10 at 9 Monroe St. in St. Johnsville after he allegedly phoned in a bomb threat to a residence in the village. Rose was charged with second-degree falsely reporting an incident.
