Police Report - 07/26/2012

Canajoharie Police Department

• Travis W. Collins, 34, of Ephratah, was arrested on July 21 and charged with second degree assault, a felony, following a fight that took place on July 20 at Jim’s Irish Harbor, on Little Mohawk Street in the village of Canajoharie. Upon their arrival on scene the night of the incident, police found an unconscious male victim who was bleeding from the back of his head. The victim was airlifted to Albany Medical Center where he was found to have serious physical injuries, including a fractured skull, bruising of the brain and an ear injury.

Collins was arraigned in Canajoharie Village Court and remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond, the amount recommended by the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, until his next court appearance.

• Justin C. Kadur, 24, of Sprakers, was arrested on July 18 and charged with third degree aggravated operation of a motor vehicle, unlicensed operator and no seat belt. During a traffic stop for allegedly not wearing a seatbelt, Police allegedly discovered that Kadur’s license had been suspended. He was arraigned in Canajoharie Village Court. Kadur posted $300 bail and was released. He is scheduled to return to court on July 23.

• Jennifer M. Arnt, 24, of Canajoharie, was arrested on July 9 and charged with four misdemeanor counts of failure to provide food and drink to an impounded animal under the Agriculture and Markets Law. Responding to a complaint of a bad odor at 3 Rock St., in the village of Canajoharie, police arrived on scene to find that that there was no resident of the apartment in question. Upon entering the apartment, patrols found three cats and one, four-to-five-foot long iguana. The animals allegedly had no food or water and appeared to be malnourished and dehydrated.

According to a press release, all of the animals were removed from the residence and found homes for.

On July 11, police located Arnt, who was considered a suspect. Arnt allegedly signed a statement. She was issued an appearance ticket to return to Canajoharie Village Court on August 20.

According to the press release, homes were found for all three of the cats and they are doing well. The lizard was returned to Arnt and is said to be in better condition.

St. Johnsville Police Department

• Kenneth D. Shaut, 23, of 64 Center St., St. Johnsville, was arrested on July 7, charged with trespassing and harassment.

Village police arrested Shaut after he remained unlawfully on the property of another, and while there, became disorderly with the homeowner. He was issued appearance tickets and released.

• Braydon T. Brownell, 19, of 44 N. Division St., St. Johnsville, was arrested on July 8, charged with third degree burglary and fourth degree grand larceny.

Police arrested Brownell after he entered the St. Johnsville High School and stole equipment. He was remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $5,000 bond.

•. Preston Priddle, 18, of 90 N. Division St., St. Johnsville, was arrested on July 5, charged with criminal mischief and criminal tampering.

Police arrested Priddle after receiving complaints from the St. Johnsville High School and a village residence that damage had been caused to their properties. He was issued appearance tickets and released.

• Robert J. Murray, 37, of 17 Kingsbury Ave., St. Johnsville, was arrested on July 14 for unlawful possession of marijuana.

Village police arrested Murray after an investigation at his home. He was found to be in possession of marijuana. He was issued an appearance ticket and released.

• Jennifer Scripter, 37, of 12 Lyon Place, St. Johnsville, was arrested on July 15, charged with second degree burglary and petit larceny.

Village police arrested Scripter after receiving a complaint that she entered a residence unlawfully and stole prescription narcotics. She was remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
