Third-graders buddy up to pre-k

Thursday, October 25, 2012 - Updated: 9:05 AM

Students in Elaine McNulty’s third grade class at the D.H. Robbins Elementary School recently visited Kate Yoder’s pre-kindergarten classroom and read to the students in celebration of Clifford the Big Red Dog’s 50th birthday. Each third grader read a Clifford book to one or more pre-k students.  “We will buddy read and do special projects throughout the school year. This is a great opportunity socially and educationally,” Yoder said. “Both classes are excited to visit with each other again.”  According to McNulty, the third graders are eager to pick out books and practice to improve their fluency for reading to the pre-k class.
