Mr. David Erwin, 64, of Erie Boulevard, Canajoharie, New York, died Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at St. Johnsville Nursing Home. 
Born on Oct. 9, 1951, in Pennsylvania, he was the son of Earl Erwin and Geraldine Kuhns Erwin. 
He was a veteran of the US Airforce serving from 1972-74.
Mr. Erwin is survived by his brother, Robert Erwin of Canajoharie, New York.

WAC names Kendra Trembly Co-Player of the Year

FORT PLAIN -- Fort Plain Central School District's Kendra Trembley was recently named WAC North Division Co-Player of the Year by the league's softball coaches. Michaela Stockwell was selected as a First Team All-Star and Sierra Logan and Kendall Kennedy were voted to the Second Team.

FPCS teams earn Scholar Athlete Team Award

FORT PLAIN -- The following Fort Plain Central School District spring varsity athletic teams have earned the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Scholar Athlete Team Award. The teams had a third quarter average of 90 or above for the required number of participants per sport.
The Scholar Athlete teams are: girls track, 94.611 average; boys track, 93.793 average; softball, 92.12; and baseball, 92.074 average.

Fort Plain lefty strikes out 11 in 11-0 rout

FORT PLAIN -- Senior pitcher Jesse Heroth fired a no-hitter as the Fort Plain Hilltoppers powered into the semifinals of the Section II Class D baseball playoffs last Thursday with an 11-0 rout of Mekeel Christian Academy at Phillips Field.
Heroth struck out 11, didn't walk a batter and was an error away from throwing a perfect game.
