Canajoharie golfers win

CANAJOHARIE -- Sam Shostek and Austin Countryman each shot a 42 to lead Canajoharie to a 12-3 victory over Duanesburg in a Western Athletic Conference boys golf match at Canajoharie Country Club on Monday.
Michael Balfe added a 47 and Trevor Bowerman finished with a 54.
Duanesburg's Pat McGarry earned medalist honors with a 41.

Drew Fureno spent a lot of time slowly broiling underneath his heavy catcher's gear in the Arizona sun, but he did it gladly.
